All about me

I’m Sarah, a jewellery designer, country girl and animal lover born and based in Norfolk, England. Wild waves on the sea, wide open fields, the beauty of nature and forgotten antiques inspire me to create unique pieces that have a deeper meaning behind them than just simply being pretty things that you wear on your body.

Since an early age, I have always been creative and believe that anyone can express themselves through art, which is why I love to teach what I do in the workshops I run.

My journey into making jewellery started 15 years ago on a hobby course for fun. Realising that what I had made was loved by everyone who saw it gave me the confidence to retrain from my then career as a detective in the police. This took me all around the country studying at Goldsmiths College, West Dean College and also self-tuition.

I live with my husband, two children and several dogs who all keep me very busy when I’m not making jewellery! I love nothing more than sharing a cuppa with my rescue hens on a sunny day. I’m late wherever I go (much to everyone’s annoyance), love sticky rice and cherry beer and according to my friends, I’m the person who rescues worms from the pavement and is forever pulling over to pick up injured animals at the side the road!

I’m most content and free by the coast…my soul belongs there. My dream is to own a little cottage by the sea one day.

What's in a name...

What's in a name...

Fired Rose is named after my Great Grandma Rose, who was killed with her husband and three sons by a bomb during World War II.

It’s in her memory that the women in our family carry her name with them, with my own daughter named after her.

I created Fired Rose Jewellery with a vision to hand craft every day, wearable pieces that capture the essence of life’s moments and tell your story. I love the thought of my jewellery being your very own talisman to draw strength, protection, luck and contentment from.

For you...

Fired Rose is for people who love jewellery that is a little different from the mainstream… Timeless heirlooms with a contemporary twist that will last you, your loved ones and future generations forever.

My home studio is full of beach finds, old trinkets and hand crafted delights from other makers which all inspire my daily work.

It’s here where I design and make my collection, using traditional and more contemporary methods.

I also have a jeweller's bench in my shop at the Black Barn where you can visit me, browse the collection and see me working.
